Kaledo Design Philosophy
This project was made through four different Kaledo software programs, Kaledo Style, Kaledo Print, Kaledo Knit, and Kaledo Weave. Kaledo Style is used for product visualization and presentation. Line or product drawings are scanned or created directly in Kaledo Style. Kaledo Print is used to design new or alter existing fabric prints. Fabrics can be scanned into Kaledo Print and then recolored, re-designed, or simply saved and be applied to a line drawing in Kaledo Style. Kaledo Knit allows the visualizations of knit structures. We will create Arglye, rib and cable knits as well as designs made from bitmap art work. Kaledo Weave will allow the application of yarns and weave structures to fabric panels. Basic and custom weaves, along with many types of yarns, can be visualized.
I enjoyed Kaledo as I found it easy to understand and use. I thought Advanced CAD went more smoothly than regular CAD.
I put all the pieces together with Adobe Illustrator, to form the visual seen below.
The idea for this project was clothing that would work for an outdoor activity, hiking and that would be sustainable for rain. Pieces are designed to be able to take off if it gets warm.
